Know what to expect on your driving lessons
Firstly, what type of lessons will you be needing? This will depend on the level of experience you’re starting with. This can be broken down into the following categories:
Regularity of driving lessons
Ideally you should aim to take 2 driving lessons per week – or one lesson per week at minimum. Keeping your driving lessons regular will ensure you keep progress and retain the information as you learn. The longer the break between lessons, the more you may struggle to progress to Driving Test Standard in a sufficient time frame.
Your driving lessons
Whatever type of driving lessons you require, you can rest assured you’ll be taught at your own personal pace – to meet your own ability and help you progress.
When you learn to drive with Acclaim, you won’t learn what you need to just pass your driving test. You’ll learn how to really drive – so you can feel ready and confident to drive in any condition and face any obstacle you encounter out on the road.
Your lessons will cover a wide variety of areas, such as:
If there are any aspects of your lessons you don’t fully grasp straight away, Martin will teach you different ways to approach them to help you understand in a way that fits you. Likewise, if you quickly feel safe and comfortable with other aspects, Martin helps you progress onto the next stage of your learning so you only take as many lessons as are necessary for you.
During your lessons, you’ll be actively encouraged to ask any questions. There’s no question too small or ‘stupid’ – and no judgement on any areas you want further clarification on. We’ll take the time to fully explain why you are being recommended a particular course of action in any situation.
