Become an independent driver at your pace
At Acclaim, we want to get you ready and through your driving test at your pace, without ever dragging out your lessons longer than necessary. From your very first lesson, we’ll ensure we get a sense of your current capabilities and confidence level to get you driving out on the road straight away.
Learner drivers lessons
For new drivers or those still learning to drive, we provide hourly or two-hour driving lessons. You can decide the frequency of your lessons, however to get the most benefit from your lessons, we recommend you aim to have at least two lessons per week.
Advance payment discounts:
(All block bookings will incur a £10 per hour surcharge if taken after 6pm Mon-Fri or at weekends)
Refresher lessons and driver assessments
These hourly lessons are for those who may have passed their driving test some months or years ago and need to brush up on their driving skills in a safe environment. Our driver assessments help those who have been diagnosed with a medical condition and now need to have their driving reassessed.
These lessons are designed to give you your confidence back and help re-familiarise you with safe driving techniques. Generally, most people only need to take a few of these lessons – around 10% of the amount of lessons you originally took. For example, if you needed to take 30 driving lessons to pass your test, you will probably only need around 3 lessons to regain your confidence and driving skills.
Pass Plus driving course
The Pass Plus course is a DVSA initiative for new drivers who’ve passed their test, regardless of age. Many leading insurance companies offer discounts of up to 30% for new drivers who have completed the Pass Plus course. This lets you save money on your car insurance after you pass your test as you can demonstrate a safe and intelligent attitude to driving.
The Pass Plus course is 6 hours and includes driving on motorways and in London.
Intensive driving course
If you have time constraints or are looking to obtain your driving licence in a shorter period of time, you can take our intensive driving course. For learners who have no previous driving experience, it’s recommended you take the full 30-hour course. Learners who have previous driving experience may need far fewer lessons.
To determine what length intensive driving course would be best suited to you, we recommend a 1-hour Trial Assessment Driving Lesson first. Once we know how many hours you are likely to need for your intensive course, we will schedule your lessons with you within a 2-week to 1-month time period.

Please note: In the event you need to cancel a driving lesson, we require at least 48 hours notice – otherwise the lesson fee is payable in full.
You will be treated as an individual, and not taught the same as my previous pupil or my next pupil. Your lesson will be tailored to your OWN personal, individual requirements…
